Carla Pucci da Filicaja is one of Italy's most famous botanical illustrators and has participated in numerous exhibitions in the country. In addition to Aboca, she has also created botanical iconographies and naturalistic plates for the Department of Botanical Sciences at the University of Sassari and for Guccio Gucci Spa. This is what he writes about his love for botanical illustration: "I chose to follow the Green, which for me has neither technical nor scientific limits: it is just life. That is why I love plants, sources of unlimited and highly original inspirations, and I paint them because I am fascinated by their uniqueness. From the encounter with the plant, the natural portrait is born, and the hand moves following the emotions inspired by listening to the "plant song." I slip into the mysterious tangle of an ivy, I lose myself in the intricate branching of a tree to observe and listen. I listen to the speech of plants, dialogues of highly evolved and sophisticated beings, sensitive lives that move, that communicate with each other and with those who are able to know how to listen."
